The Evolution of the Elevated Alien Logo

The original Elevated Alien logo wasn't created by a graphic designer.

It was created by an artist who had absolutely no idea what she was doing in Adobe Illustrator.

Looking back, I think that was part of the fun.

When I created the first logo, I knew two things:

  1. I wanted an alien head.

  2. I didn't want to come up with another business name.

That was the entire plan.

Illustrator, unfortunately, did not come with a handy alien-head button.

So I built one.

Piece by piece.

Every shape, every eye, every line, every detail was assembled manually. The geometric pattern behind the alien was laid out one square at a time. I spent hours duplicating shapes, resizing boxes, and trying to make everything symmetrical.

I thought I succeeded.

Years later, if you zoom in close enough, you'll discover that I absolutely did not.

There are crooked sections all over that logo.

At the time, though, it was the most ambitious digital project I had ever attempted. Technically, it was my first real digital design.

The logo ended up containing more than fifteen layers, partly because I was experimenting as I went and partly because I was learning Illustrator in real time. Every mistake became another layer.

One detail that was intentional was the third eye.

At that time, I had learned that my life path number is 9, so I gave the alien nine eyelashes surrounding its third eye. It was a small personal detail that most people probably never noticed, but I liked knowing it was there.

For years, that logo represented Elevated Alien.

Then, somewhere around 2024 or 2025, it was time for an update.

The problem was that I couldn't find the original file.

Instead of editing the old design, I had to start over from scratch.

The second version took about an hour.

Not because I cared less.

Because I knew more.

The updated logo is cleaner, simpler, and far less chaotic. The shapes are more intentional. The lines are smoother. The design feels more confident.

The funny thing is that I probably spent over twelve hours creating the first logo and less than one hour creating the second.

The newer logo may be objectively better, but I still have a soft spot for the original.

The first logo represents the beginning.

The second logo represents growth.

And both of them tell the same story:

Sometimes you don't need a perfect plan.

Sometimes you just need an alien head, a stubborn idea, and the willingness to figure things out as you go.
